What is the mission of the Accordia Global health Foundation?Accordia's mission is to overcome the burden of infectious diseases by building healthcare capacity and strengthening academic medical institutions in Africa. 2. What are the goals of Accordia Global Health Foundation in Uganda?The first project and main focus of Accordia Global Health Foundation is the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) in Uganda. The new Institute facility was formally opened in October 2004. For more information on our programs in Uganda please visit the IDI page and the Special Initiatives page on our website. 3. What is the IDI?The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is a training, research and clinical facility in Kampala, Uganda dedicated to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic and other infectious diseases in Africa. Located on the grounds of Makerere University adjacent to Mulago Hospital, the IDI operates under the direction of its Executive Director, Alex Coutinho. What is the role of Accordia in regards to the IDI?The Accordia provides financial resources and programmatic support to the Infectious Diseases Institute in Kampala, Uganda. The AAF anticipates being a major, but not the sole, provider of financial and technical support to the IDI in Uganda. The Foundation intends to raise significant resources, including donations, grants and contracts to support the programs and services of the IDI. 5.
