ABOUT IDCAP
Recognizing the need for the global health community to determine more effective and efficient investments in health worker training and education initiatives, Accordia, with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, launched the Integrated Infectious Disease Capacity Building Evaluation. IDCAP developed a novel training package and established a comprehensive surveillance system of 36 health facilities to measure its impact. It is the first program of its magnitude to use a randomized controlled trial to illustrate the impact and incremental effectiveness of on-site training for the health workforce in sub-Saharan Africa.
