SPEARHEAD Project
The Strengthening Human Resources for Health for the Provision of Quality HIV/AIDS Services through Pre-service Training (SPEARHEAD) Program, funded by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), aims to integrate comprehensive HIV/AIDS and co-infection prevention, counseling, diagnosis, and treatment with components of leadership and management into pre-service training. The program offers superior curriculum, innovative and cost-effective information technologies, clinical mentorship, and training of master trainers.
As part of this program, Accordia is providing technical assistance to the Institute for Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) and two other Nigerian organizations during the curriculum review and development process to strengthen the HIV content within the pre-service curricula for Nigerian physicians, nurses, and health technicians. Accordia is also designing the HIV clinical rotation for MPH students, which will become a routine part of the MPH pre-service curricula.
