Mark Dybul Named Executive Director of Global Fund
November 16, 2012, Washington D.C. - Accordia Global Health Foundation congratulates our board member Ambassador Mark Dybul on his appointment as Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund).
“The Global Fund will benefit enormously from Mark’s leadership and vision, at a time of much change and pressing need,” said Warner Greene, President of Accordia Global Health Foundation and Director of the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology. “Accordia looks forward to supporting Mark and the Global Fund in the years ahead, and to new collaboration around our common goal of sustaining and accelerating gains in the fight against three of the world’s most deadly diseases.”
Ambassador Dybul was one of the principal architects of the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and served as the first United States Global AIDS Coordinator from 2006 to 2009. He went on to co-direct the Global Health Law Program at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, and currently serves as Senior Counselor for the Global Business Coalition on HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Ambassador Dybul is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s preeminent leaders in global health.
