Warner C. Greene, MD, PhD elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
On Monday, April 21, 2014, Warner C. Greene, MD, PhD, Executive Chair of Accordia Global Health Foundation and Founding Director of the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology was elected to the celebrated American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Founded, in 1780, the Academy’s purpose is "to cultivate every art and science which may tend to advance the interest, honor, dignity, and happiness of a free, independent, and virtuous people."
Dr. Greene is joining a group of exceptional individuals who have been named to the Academy, from its founders who include John Adams, James Bowdoin, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington, to a distinguished membership including Martin Luther King, Jr., Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill, and John F. Kennedy. There are more than 250 Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners among the current membership of the Academy.

Dr. Greene will be formally inducted to the Academy on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Cambridge Massachusetts.
