IDCAP Facility-level Data

To evaluate the effectiveness of the capacity building interventions, IDCAP collected data on over 1 million patient visits across 36 health facilities from November 2009 through September 2011.  The data on patient visits include symptoms and clinical measures (e.g. weight, height, co-infections), lab tests ordered and results, diagnoses, treatments prescribed and received, and referrals.  Facility data were also collected from MOH registers.

Results from IDCAP are being published in a series of manuscripts; those that are complete are available on the Reports and Publications tab of the website.

Available Dataset

Revised Medical Form 5 (MF5)
The revised Medical Form 5 dataset contains individual level data on over 1 million outpatient visits that took place between November 2009 to September 2011 at 36 health facilities in Uganda. The MF5 form was initially modified by the Uganda Malaria Surveillance Project (http://umsp.muucsf.org/default.html) and further revised by IDCAP to include information about emergency triage and treatment (ETAT), pneumonia, HIV testing, and drug availability. The MF5 includes data on all aspects of the clinical consultation including patient demographics, history and exam findings, laboratory requests and results, diagnosis, treatment and referral.  No patient information on the patients’ identities were entered in the database.  An anonymous dataset with no information to identify the patients or health facilities is available for public use. Please e-mail sburnett AT accordiafoundation.org to request use of this dataset.
